Description
In collaboration with architect Laura Howard, this landscape design integrates elegance and functionality. The design is a non-traditional take on a traditionally sized swimming pool. Instead of the pool edge being flush with the pool deck the pool is slightly raised and surrounded by a sitting height wall allowing for ease of entry and a convenient spot to sit with a cool drink on a hot afternoon. The pool is surrounded by large limestone pavers with open grass joints, blending structure with nature. At the entry to the pool area a striking armillary sphere by David Harber serves as both a decorative and functional centerpiece, accentuating the pool’s central axis. This outdoor space harmonizes modern refinement with the beauty of the natural surroundings.
