Description
This landscape design responds to the complete renovation of a Tudor Revival house built nearly 100 years ago. Ambitious in scope, the house was almost completely rebuilt, including the excavation of a full height terrace level where there had been only a cellar before. The work began with a decorative brick screening wall and screen planting, the reworking of the entrance drive through a woodland and into a pastoral entry lawn. An oval lawn comliments a generous screen porch on the east side of the house. An elaborate kitchen garden is visible from the breakfast room windows. A large party lawn and swimming pool were built adjacent to the spa like terrace level. The swimming pool features a twenty foot geyser-like jet at its center. The pool itself is a circle engaged within a square creating a complex form with a rustic and masculine chiseled granite pool coping. The property has been featured in several movies and television shows.
