Landscape Architecture is Not Landscape Maintenance
The American Society of Landscape Architects states:
“Landscape architects analyze, plan, design, manage, and nurture the built and natural environments. Landscape architects have a significant impact on communities and quality of life. They design parks, campuses, streetscapes, trails, plazas, and other projects that help define a community.”
Landscape architecture is a degreed and accredited profession.
By contrast, landscape maintenance is the profession that mows lawns, trims shrubbery and may even repair sprinkler systems.
Tunnell & Tunnell Landscape Architects founder Spencer Tunnell is fond of saying, “The biggest shovel I use is a pencil.”
At Tunnell & Tunnell, we do not perform landscape maintenance. We do take maintenance into consideration on all projects, just as we consider lighting, irrigation and other aspects of sustaining our clients’ environment.
Tunnell & Tunnell offers services to address every phase of a project, from concept and design to presentation and construction administration. We often assist clients as their property continues to evolve and mature.
Tunnell & Tunnell designs, creates, restores and preserves outdoor environments of all shapes and sizes for institutional, commercial, and residential clients large and small.
